Figure Work

For several years I have been attending a weekly life drawing group at the local art center. We are a small group of artists and we have a paid model.  The sketches at these sessions are generally quick and immediate - though I sometimes develop them in the studio later. 

There is a particular joy in this work's creation - and I enjoy the collaboration with the model and the social time with other artists. Perhaps most importantly, this work also constantly sharpens my ability to see. 

Here are a few drawings and paintings from those sessions, and, there are also some paintings that grew out of this work toward the end.
